August : Patriotism vs Religious Fervour

● As we all know that August is the month of Revolution/ Kranti & also the month of religious festivals also.15th August there is euphoria of patriotism during this time of the year.

● August is the month wherein Indians are celebrated a bulk amount of religious feast.
It is also the pious month of Shravan along with festivals like Rakhshabandhan,
Pateti,Janmashtami, Molakat-Gauri Vrat, Bakri-id, Divaso and many more like Ekadashi. Thus there is a lot of religious euphoria during this time of the year.

But according to me, I noticed out that the festivals which we celebrated here in India are mostly too much religious whereas in other country they also celebrate festivals but its not religious at all , it's a kind of entertainment for people or  a rational thinking behind that rather than religious kind of a things.

Here I give some images through we can see that how and why they celebrate that festivals.

◆ Patriotism vs Religious :-

● Though the independence day reminds us to be patriotic towards nation, It is also reminds us of the partition.
15th August, 1947 is the day when India got freedom from Britishers & also the day of partition between two country India & Pakistan. During the time of partition there was a huge amount of massacre occurred.

● Here I can find one video about this partition:-

We can find that various speeches against one of the another country through Prime Ministers.

In this below video we can see that how our Prime Minister Narendra Modi Satire upon Pakistan and also upon the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imaran Ahmed Khan.

Above all these things or the impact of the religious things upon Indians , there perhaps forgot the partition of India because of religion.

K.R.S Iyengar write in Indian Writing in English :-

" It was a flawed freedom born in the hour of communal disturbances of unprecedented ferocity and unbelievable bestiality."

This type of religious patriotism I can find in " Khushvantsinh's book __ " Train to Pakistan".

W. H. Auden also lashed upon " Sir Cyril Radcliff" who was the man drew a line that forever devided a country.... Auden lashed upon him through his poem named " Partition."

Nation vs Country :-

Do "Nation" & " Country" mean the same thing?

No, there are few major differences between the term nation and country.
"Desh ek rag he" the poem which is written by "Bhagavat Ravat" in this we can find that he wrote about Nation and Country.

-:Nation:-

A nation is officially observed as a group of people who share the same cultural identity. They share the same language and culture.

-: Country:-

Country is a synonymous with  'State' as it applies to self governing political identities.
Accordingly, Republic of India or Bharat qualifies as a country and not as a nation. India has people of multiple races, cultures, ethnicities and languages.
Gujarati people are ethnically, culturally, linguistic different than say Benglis., Tamil or other groups. Gujarati people have common things among themselves and are a nation. Therefore, India is a country of nation.

In this below paragraph which named...

In this we can see that how the writer satire upon politicians.

We can see that we can't speak against the nation or we haven't right of freedom of speech. So in "Defense of Freedom"  a Hindi short film which is written by Nandita Das. Nawazuddin Siddiqui played a role in this. It is upon the freedom of speech where he said that the writer have a right to write about the harsh reality of nation and their people and also the nasty life of the people.

Actually this Hindi Short film based upon the author " Saadat Hasan Manto" who was a pakistani writer, playwright and author. He was known  to write about the hard truths of society that no one dared to talk about.

Thank you.

Northrop Frye, in full Herman Northrop Frye, Canadian educator and critic who wrote much on "Canadian Literature" and culture and became best known as one of the most important literary theorists of the 20th century. 1.What is Archetypal Criticism? What does the Archetypal critic do? In literary Criticism the term " archetype" denotes recurrent narratives designs, patterns of actions, character- type, themes & images which are identifiable in a wide variety of works of literature, as well as in myths, dreams and even social rituals. Such recurrent items are held to be the result of elemental & universal forms or patterns in the human psyche, whose effective embodiment in a literary work evokes a profound response from the attentive reader, because he or she shares the psychic archetypes expressed by the author. 2.What is Frye trying to prove by giving an analogy of "Physics to Nature" & "Criticism to Literature"? Have you ever seen wind and water making art by themselves? Have you ever seen an artist who without any particular tool makes beautiful piece of art? Have you ever thought Time can make art more beautiful? Have you ever meet a person who don’t believe in immortality of art? Well here it is. Andy Goldsworthy is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist who produces site-specific sculptures and land art situated in natural and urban settings. He don’t use any particular tool to create his piece of art. He goes to the nature, finds something which is given by nature, and after making it give it back to the nature. He is working with time. He knows when the sea will touch his work. He knows after how many days the art will show up. With that understanding of time he creates something beautiful. He believes in flow, flow of everything. He also says that everything has fluidity. Here we are talking about his documentary, “River and Tides – Working with Time” What...
