And the task which given us in this below link...

1. What are the names of protagonists in both the works?

◆ In movie there are 3 main characters:-
1. Priya
2. Rahul
3. Ajay

In the Novel also there are 3 main characters:-
1. Hester
2.  Roger Chillingworth
3. Arthur Dimmesdale

2. Write their story in brief.

 ◆ Priya:-
Priya Bakshi is the bubbly, free-spirited daughter of Gulshan and Rohini Bakshi. She is the central figure of this film.

Rahul:-
He is a wealthy playboy who attracted with Priya and afterwards Priya also attracted him and they both are having in a relationship.
Ajay:-

Ajay love and support Priya. Ajay is secretly in love with Priya and wishes to marry her in the future, hopefully after she finishes her studies.

3. What is the role played by society in Hester's life?

Hester who belongs to the time of the Puritan society. So the society was very rigid about the women. So society played a very vital role to torture and rigid towards Hester.

4. What is the role played by society in Priya's life?

When Priya became pregnant, first of all her father tried to convince to Priya for abortion. But Priya wanted to give birth to her child. So her father exiled her from the home. Then she went at Rustom’s home by coincidently. Then her parents ready to except to Priya with her pregnancy. When Priya decided to study further, she faced so many problems. When Priya went to college, her best friend did not give the support to Priya. All the students disguised with Priya. No one was ready to seat with Priya. In the function, her best friend played a drama based on the story of Priya. But at the end of drama they showed that Priya done sucide because she did sin. But Priya got courage from her parents and gave a speech. When the whole family went for picnic ,society was staring at her.Priya faced too much hurdles after becoming pregnant.

5. Compare & contrast between two male characters : Roger Chillingworth, Arthur Dimmesdale, Rahul & Ajay.

As we all know that Chillingworth is the husband of Hester.  He sent Hester to America. Hester became pregnant. But the baby was not of Chilingworth. When Chillingworth came to know about Hester’s  Baby, he did not support to her but he was ready to support society and also gave punishment to Hester. And also he was bitting to Hester. And also tried to give punishment to Dimmesdale.  Chillingworth did not understand to Hester at the end. This is the story of The Scarlet Letter.

As we all know that Rahul was the wealthy man. He had so many affairs. He traped to Priya in his love. But Priya did not know that Rahul did not love her. When Priya became pregnant, Rahul denied to marry with her. Priya and her parents begged to Rahul for excepting to Priya. But Rahul was not ready to except Priya. But whrn Rahul’s mother said some bad words for  Priya , Rahul stopped her mother and took the side of Priya. At the end of the movie Rahul proposed to marry to Priya. But Priya denied him for marriage.

We can see that Rahul and Chillingworth are same in some incidents. For example ;- they did not except Priya and Hester with their conditions. But Rahul excepted Priya at the end but Chillingworth was not ready to except to Hester.

Dimmesdale and Ajay :-

Dimmesdale was the father of Pearl and lover of Hester. He really loved to Hester. When Hester faced problems because of her pregnancy he couldn’t tell the truth because of his reputation in society. But at the end of the movie, the scene of Scaffold ,Dimmesedale revealed the whole truth .  And saved to Hester. But actually it is not match with the novel end.

6. Compare & contrast between the scaffold scene in " the Scarlet Letter" and a year end performance in kya kehna in which a group of students performs a play on Priya and her pregnancy.

The scaffold Scene :-

In the movie, we can see that Dimmesdale save the life of Hester. He revealed the whole truth that he was the real father of Pearl. So, society decided to punish to Dimmesdale. But at the end, Dimmesdale and Hester were save their life and living a happy life with Pearl.  And Hester gave the symbol “A” to Pearl.

In Kya Kehna movie, the performance of a play on Priya and her pregnancy, we can find that Priya’s best friend played a role of Priya. They prepared the script based on the real story of Priya. Priya’s friends or classmates did not eccept Priya. They believed that Priya did the sin. And for that reason they could not eccept Priya. When the performance was started, they shown that Priya was done the sin and her parents were worried about her. And at last, priya done sucide. But Priya did not agree with that scene. Because she knew that she did not do any sin. But Rahul was not ready to accept  Priya. Because of his repetition. He did not eccept her. And also he had so many affairs.
The video we can see below:-

7. What are the reasons that Arthur Dimmesdale and Rahul do not come to forward to accept their fatherhood? How do you they differ and what are the similarities?

Arthur Dimmesdale did not accept the fatherhood because of his repetition in the society. So Hester has to face so many problems. On the other side we can say that in the movie Kya Kehna, Rahul also did not accept Priya because of his repetition. These are the similarities between them.

8. What is the role played by Chillingworth in Hester's life? Why do you think he wanted to take revenge on Hester and Dimmesdale?

Chillingworth was the husband of Hester. But he sent Hester to America. After many years he came at  America. In those years Hester loved to Dimmesdale and she became pregnant. But society did not accept Hester. They believed that Hester done sin. She had to face so many problems but her husband also harassed her. He could not accept Hester with that child. And also possessed her mentally and physically. And chillingworth also wanted to take revenge with hester and Dimmesdale. Finally Chillingworth found that the real father of Pearl was Dimmesdale. So he tried to get punishment to Hester and Dimmesdale.

9. What is the role played by Rahul 's mother in Priya's life? Why do you think that she wants to take revenge on Priya?

We can say that Rahul’s mother was very egoist person. She has money power. She was also a trusty of college where Priya and Rahul were studying.  Once Rahul and Priya’s brother had fighting between them. So Rahul’s mother used her power of capitalism. Here we can apply the term capitalism. And tried to arrest Priya’s brother. But at that time Rahul denied to give his arguments and saved Priya’s brother. After all these, Priya and Rahul fallen in love with each other. Priya tried to convince to their parents and brothers for marriage with Rahul. But They were not ready. But at last, they ready with Priya. At that time Priya went to Rahul’s home to call him. But when she reached at his home, his mother misbehaved with her. Priya was not from too much wealthy family where as Rahul was from a wealthy family. So, Rahul’s mother wanted to take a revenge with her.

10. Write a note on class difference in Kya Kehna.

In the movie Kya Kehna , we can find class difference. Rahul and Priya were the protagonist of the movie. Rahul was from the wealthy family whereas Priya was from the middle class and loving family. Rahul’s mother has ego for her money power. She also showed her ego when Rahul and Priya’s brother were fight to each other. She was the trusty of the college where Priya and Rahul were studying.  So she used her power and took the action against Priya’s brother.
When Priya went to Rahul’s home for calling him, Rahul’s mother insulting her by saying some disgusting words. She told that Priya was from very poor family and they were from rich family. They wanted they status. So we can find class difference in Kya Kehna movie .

11. Why do you think the director has lifted to the character of Ajay to the ideal state? Is it possible in real life? What are the reasons of Yes or No?

The director has lifted the character of Ajay to the Ideal state.  Ajay was the good person. He knew all about Rahul and Priya's affairs. He also knew that Priya became pregnant though he was ready to accept her. It is not easy to say that in real life it is possible or not. Because all have their own points of view. So, I can't say it is possible or not in real life.

12. How do you see Hester and Priya as individuals.

I can see that Priya is the strongest woman. Because she fought with society and succeed to convince the society to accept her. Hester also faced many problems and fought with society but she was not succeed.

13. Write a critical note on the end of the movie and the novel. Why do you think the novelist has not given happy ending?
we can see that the movie has changed many scenes. Movie gives a happy ending whereas the novel gives a sad ending. May be Hawthorne tried to reveal the reality of the society on that time.
