Movie review of "The Scarlet Letter"...

◆ About Novel " The Scarlet Letter" :-    "The Scarlet Letter" written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, published in 1850. It is considered a masterpiece of American literature & classic moral study. It is a historical novel. It portrays the various elements like : guilt,revenge and redemption. The genre of the novel is Romance & Historical.    The major topics are included here :- 1. Puritan society 2. Sin 3. Guilt 4. Conflict between emotions & intellect 5. Nature of evil. So, We [ Department of English, MKBU] recently watched movie "The Scarlet Letter". So as per the movie concern I try to give my view upon this movie. ◆ About Movie " The Scarlet Letter" :-  "The Scarlet Letter" is a 1995 American  Romantic drama film. No doubt there is a various version of this film but we watched this 1995's version. It is a film adaption of the Nathaniel Hawthorne novel of the same name. It was directed by Roland Joffie

Movie review ...On The Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin

   "The Modern Times" is a 1936 American comedy film written & directed by Charlie Chaplin. In this film his iconic little tramp character struggles to survive in the Modern, industrialized world. It is regarded as the last great silent film.    The tone of the film is normally comic but deeply it's tragic.Modern time's films are very pro-poor. America is a pro-capitalist county. So, this movie is also in satirical way & political satire also.    Critical observation and satire upon the mechanical life of modern time's people is described here in this film. The Modern industrialization is there in this film. ◆ The major concept of this film:- The question is that in the mechanical life that how to be a human beings in different capacity? The movie is upon that also. The film was partly inspired by a conversation Chaplin had had with Mohandas K. Gandhi.G gandhi had commented to Chaplin about how in the current age, machines were taking over.
